What a group legal plan covers

A legal plan gives you access to a network of attorneys for common matters such as wills and estate documents, real estate closings, family matters, traffic issues and consultations. Many services are covered in full when you use a network attorney, and others are offered at a discount.

Who gets the most value

People with a life event on the way, such as buying a home, having a child or updating an estate plan, tend to get the most. Plans typically do not cover business matters or certain other disputes, so read the exclusions. For employers, legal plans are an inexpensive employee-paid benefit.

Questions We Get

Common questions

Does a legal plan cover any type of case?

No. Plans usually focus on common personal matters and exclude some areas such as business disputes. Check the list.

Do I have to use a network attorney?

Usually yes for the full benefit. Using other attorneys may give you only a partial benefit.

Is a legal plan the same as legal insurance for my business?

No. Group legal plans are for personal matters of employees and their families.

Can employers offer a legal plan?

Yes. It is commonly offered as a voluntary benefit paid by the employee. We can help you compare options.
