We reprice your renewal on a held census, so every later measurement has a fixed reference.
A datum is the reference point everything else is measured from.
Three actions.
Before anything is compared.
We Fix the Census
The enrolled counts are frozen at a named date.
We Reprice the Renewal
The carrier’s ask is restated on that census, tier by tier.
We Record the Ask
As stated, dated and in writing.
A fixed point.
Everything else is a measurement from it.
Every Comparison Uses It
Quotes, counter-offers and next year’s renewal.
It Does Not Move
A comparison on a moving file compares nothing.
It Is Written Down
So it can be checked by someone who was not there.

Questions to Ask the Carrier
The ones we would put to them.
Questions that come up.
Short answers to the questions we hear most. Each links to the full page.
What does it mean to set the datum on my renewal?
We freeze enrolled counts at a named date, restate the carrier’s renewal ask on that fixed census tier by tier, and record the ask in writing. That gives every later measurement a fixed reference, so quotes, counter-offers and next year’s renewal can all be compared against it.
Why does the census need to be held still for pricing comparisons?
A moving file compares nothing. If enrollment changes between quotes, the numbers no longer line up. Holding the census at a fixed date writes the baseline down so that anyone can check it later and every quote is measured against the same starting point.
What will I see when you restate my renewal?
You see your renewal restated tier by tier with the arithmetic shown, how much of the increase is market-driven versus claims-driven, and the questions worth asking the carrier. The baseline is written down so it can be reviewed later.
