Prepare a short employee message before the headlines reach them.
Employees will hear that HealthCare.gov premiums are rising about 13%. A brief, accurate note from you answers the question before it is asked and keeps your open enrollment on track.
It does not need to be long. It needs to be right. Send us your renewal and we will give you a second opinion in writing.
Three things the message should cover.
Say what your plan is
Explain in a sentence how your plan is priced and what the company pays toward it. Employees who see only their deduction underestimate the value.
Do not give advice you cannot stand behind
Do not tell employees to buy on the marketplace or to waive. Point them to HealthCare.gov and to the free local help DIFS lists, and tell them to confirm any subsidy question with a tax adviser.
Name the dates
Michigan’s marketplace open enrollment runs from November 1, 2026 to January 15, 2027, with a December 15 deadline for coverage that starts January 1 (DIFS). Give your own enrollment dates beside them.
